The Patriot Act

The government has passed a new law known as the Patriot act.This bill allows the government to basically gives them the right to invade your privacy.This is a key issue because many Americans say it Violates their rights.Yet the government tries to say that it's for our own safety.This is a really
controversial issue because it puts two very important things against each other safety v.s freedom.It makes you choose between two things that any good country should have.There are two sides two the story on one hand your apparently safe.On the other hand you get stripped of your freedom.

Some people say that the Patriot act is a good thing.George W. Bush said that the Patriot act helps to stop terrorism.He also claims that terrorist have done this to us.He does have a point.The patriot act has stopped terrorist attacks.Tapping into phones has found many terrorist planning an attack.Airport security although has gotten more extreme has stopped terrorist attacks.The Patriot act has made America safer,but at what cost?

The Patriot act has taken away all our freedom.We can't have a private conversation with out the government listening to it.What if someone was having personal conversation on the phone.This totally destroys the fourth amendment .Which states that you can not search raid or spy on someone with out a warrant.This new law has stripped us of all our freedom and privacy.We are being treated like prisoners.They don't trust us what so ever.There is a popular game out there in grand theft auto.In this game you kill people blow up cars and buildings.What if the cars listened on a conversation where a teenager is playing this game.He talks about blowing up a building and the government confuses him for a terrorist.That's the bad part about the so called Patriot Act.

Democrats and republicans really differ on the subject.Republicans are for the Patriot act.Democrats
are against it they want to squash the whole thing.This should be one of the biggest issues in the upcoming election.Many people are split in which way to side.For some it's to easy to choose what is more important.What is your side on the Patriot act.Face the issues.
